Janesville’s new Town Square downtown riverfront has made the cover of the most recent issue of Madison Region Economic Development, the Livability.com publication dedicated to economic development efforts in the South Central Wisconsin region that includes Dane and Rock Counties.
The featured article showcases some of the dramatic economic development and image changes that have taken place throughout Janesville in the last 10 years, saying “Janesville offers history, recreation, and a bright future.” Front and center is the new riverfront Town Square, a riverfront park and plaza spanning both sides of the river and connected with an iconic pedestrian bridge. The project has brought a remarkable change to the downtown riverfront along a newly daylighted stretch of the river that had formerly been covered with a parking lot.
The downtown riverfront redevelopment and Town Square master plans were developed with the help of Vandewalle & Associates.
