More housing, educational offerings coming to Horicon in 2024

HORICON – (excerpts from wiscnews.com): The CityView subdivision and Moraine Park Technical College’s Horicon Regional Campus are among the changes Horicon residents will see in 2024.

The largest new business coming to town in 2024 will be the Moraine Park Technical College’s Horicon Regional Campus, which is set on 28 acres of land on the western edge of the city.

“The campus will be the Marshland Crossing’s first tenant and hopefully the anchor that will draw other interested parties out to the Crossing,” Horicon Mayor Josh Maas said.

Voters in the Moraine Park Technical College area — including Dodge, Fond du Lac and Washington counties — approved a $55 million referendum in November 2022 for four projects including the Horicon Regional Center. The Horicon center will include a new fire-training center that will serve the 40-plus fire departments within the district.

Horicon is generating a lot of positive momentum, Maas said. “Our home values are doing well, people want to move here thanks to our newish school facilities, our best-in-class sports venues, job opportunities and centralized location,” Maas said. “Now, we just have to make sure our city’s critical infrastructure is where it needs to be not only for our current residents, but also for future residents and businesses as well.”

“We’ve prided ourselves on being a quintessential small town, but we needed to modernize this great city to prepare it for the future,” Maas said.
