EAU CLAIRE, WIS. (WITH EXCERPTS FROM LEADERSTELEGRAM.COM) — A study done by Vandewalle & Associates, Inc. gave the city a plan on what could possibly be developed with the Oakwood Mall.
Oakwood Mall has been a place people could go to for nearly 40 years. In a time when people are going less and less to malls, the City of Eau Claire was presented a study for potential developments that could update the mall and use more of its space.
Vandewalle & Associates has previously worked with Eau Claire creating a concept for the redevelopment of the Eau Claire Cannery District, said White. To create ideas for mall development, the team went through its process, which included meeting with people who owned the mall and surrounding properties, touring the location, and drawing from their own experience of redeveloping malls.
