MADISON, WIS. (EXCERPTS FROM MADISON.COM) – Madison’s City Council has given final approval for an eight-story apartment building and a six-story hotel that would neighbor the historic Hotel Ruby Marie.
Brian Munson, a principal with Vandewalle & Associates, a design firm working with (developer) JCap, said his team appreciated community input and City processes that shaped the proposal, which has undergone significant exterior changes … including deepening the setbacks of the upper stories from the street.
Part of the site falls within the boundaries of the First Settlement Historic District.
The vote to approve the project was unanimous.
