Watertown health and community hub wins redevelopment award

WATERTOWN, WISC.- The Collective Campus redevelopment in Watertown has won an award from WEDA for “Real Estate Redevelopment and Reuse.”

The Collective Campus, led by the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation, is a transformational redevelopment of the historic Bethesda Lutheran Home campus into a regional hub for health, housing, childcare and community services,” said WEDA in announcing the award. “Backed by more than $100 million in public, private, and philanthropic investment, the project is breathing new life into a once-vacant institutional site while strengthening the City of Watertown’s tax base.

The campus was one of two area finalists for the Community and Economic Development Awards, with the Food and Beverage Innovation Campus in Jefferson finishing as a runner-up for the Economic Development Initiative award.
