Carpers, Thorpes donate two lots for parks in Macomb
MACOMB, ILL. — The development of two parks in Macomb were discussed at Monday’s Macomb Committee of the Whole meeting. John Bannon, community development coordinator proposed the city hire Vandewalle & Associates, Inc, a professional planning and design firm, to design the parks in the 1300 block of East Pierce Street and 529 West Piper. The cost would be $3,125. One thousand dollars would be eligible for reimbursement through the Strong Communities Program grant, with the remaining being covered through the American Rescue Plan Act grant money.
