VILLAGE OF OREGON, WISC. (WITH EXCERPTS FROM THE OREGON OBSERVER): The Village of Oregon held an open house and workshop for community members to discuss the future of the 249 N. Main St. lot on July 19. After visiting the property, participants were invited to the Oregon Village Hall for an interactive workshop led by Vandewalle & Associates and the Village.
The Village purchased the Main St. property in 2016. It was previously slated to be the site of the new Oregon Public Library, but construction analysis revealed that it could not support the proposed building. A sculpture park, apartment complex and more have been presented as possible construction alternatives.
