Carpers, Thorpes donate two lots for parks in Macomb

MACOMB, ILL. — The development of two parks in Macomb were discussed at Monday’s Macomb Committee of the Whole meeting.

John Bannon, community development coordinator proposed the city hire Vandewalle & Associates, Inc, a professional planning and design firm, to design the parks in the 1300 block of East Pierce Street and 529 West Piper. The cost would be $3,125. One thousand dollars would be eligible for reimbursement through the Strong Communities Program grant, with the remaining being covered through the American Rescue Plan Act grant money.

The design decision was placed on the consent agenda with a final action for next week.
