Lake Geneva awarded TAP grant for bike/ped trail

The City of Lake Geneva has been awarded $835,316 in TAP grant funding to develop a new bike/ped trail connecting a State Park, schools, and other community assets to Geneva Lake.

V&A assisted the City with grant writing, developing a strong grant story, and compelling graphics.

The project will have even greater impact for a many reasons:

  • The project directly links to several vital community destinations on the trail route, including Big Foot Beach State Park, Lake Geneva Youth Camp, Badger High School, Lake Geneva Middle School, the future Geneva Lakes Family YMCA site, residential neighborhoods, Geneva Meadows Apartments, and places of worship
  • Completes gaps in the existing trail network
  • Links to two existing off-street trails
  • Installs intersection improvements at two intersections near the school campus
  • Will occur in coordination with the City’s plans to install a signalized intersection at South Street and STH 120, currently in the planning stages
  • Develops a new off-street trail on CTH H between Badger High School and the Middle School
  • Adds bicycle lanes to connect to the new YMCA.  The trail would particularly benefit the 39% of nearby residents who are considered to be low-income by HUD
