SHEBOYGAN, WISC. (with excerpts from whbl.com) – While the announced closure of the last coal-fired Alliant Energy plant in Sheboygan means the loss of certain federal fund payments to the City, the City has other plans to absorb that cost and more than replace the value in cleaner air and environment, and ultimately a vibrant new waterfront redevelopment with new jobs and tax base. The City has retained Vandewalle & Associates to conduct the first stages in redevelopment planning including inviting input from the community as to what they would like to see on the lakefront site. Vandewalle has already worked in the City of Sheboygan on the iconic Harbor Centre Marina, South Pier District and FreshTech projects in Sheboygan in years past.
