U.S. Dept of Commerce announces $1.5 Billion CARES Act Funds for community recovery

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross has announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is now accepting applications from eligible grantees for  Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) supplemental funds (EDA CARES Act Recovery Assistance) intended to help communities prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. The assistance is being offered under the department’s Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) program.

The CARES Act Recovery Assistance is expected to offer a wide-range of financial assistance to communities and regions as they respond to and recover pandemic impacts.  For more information, please visit the EDA CARES Act Recovery Assistance page.

The EDA has also published an Addendum to its Fiscal Year 2020 Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Notice of Funding Opportunity (FY20 PWEAA NOFO).
