Hartford approves three-party contract for construction of an 82-unit apartment building

HARTFORD, WI. On Dec. 18, 2018 the Hartford Common Council agreed to enter into a three-party contract with Consolidated Construction of Appleton and Hartford Badger Development of Milwaukee to build an 82-unit apartment building on properties on the north end of the downtown area, at a site located at West State Street and North Johnson Street.

The structure is expected to include 82 units in a five story building. Plans show that the first floor will provide underground parking and covered parking, a bike shop, and offices. A game room and a fitness area will occupy the second floor. Apartments would fill remaining floors according to the plans.

A multi-family development for this site was identified as one of the catalytic projects aimed at spurring downtown development, according to of the City’s  Downtown Redevelopment Plan. That plan was endorsed by both the Plan Commission and Common Council, and prepared in 2016 by Vandewalle & Associates.
