FROM JSONLINE.COM: The North Shore area of Fox Point is the site of an updated proposal for a new multi-unit housing project targeted at empty nesters. Mandel Group Inc. wants to develop 105 high-end apartments and an 80-bed assisted living facility at the former Dunwood Elementary School site, 217 W. Dunwood Road. The project fits with Fox Point’s housing goals; in 2015 Vandewalle & Associates completed a housing study of the area in which helped to illustrate and quantify the needs of the growing numbers of baby boomers and empty-nesters in the community who would prefer to “age in place” in their own communities.
