FROM THE SAUK PRAIRIE EAGLE: The owners of a property at S7141A Highway 78 (in the Town of Merrimac) seek to start a bed and breakfast, but first need approval from the Merrimac Town Board. The board is expected to consider both requests during its next meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Merrimac Town Hall, S6911 Highway 113. The storage facility is located at E13921 Highway DL. Jackie Mich, consulting planner with Vandewalle & Associates, said the changes require amending the town’s comprehensive plan. Both requests would change the land use from agricultural preservation to commercial. “In order for the town to grant a rezoning, the new district has to be consistent with the town’s comprehensive plan,” Mich said. The board is expected to consider (the request) during its next meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Merrimac Town Hall, S6911 Highway 113.
