OREGON, WI: The Village of Oregon is interested in keeping local businesses in the Village; the Village’s TIF just might help make that possible. Recreational Concepts is a pool and spa business in Oregon that is hoping to expand in a larger Oregon location on Highway 14. In a report from the Wisconsin State Journal, Village planning consultant Mike Slavney, of Vandewalle & Associates, said the proposal would redevelop an underutilized property and that the business would benefit from highway exposure. The proposal meets basic zoning standards as it stands, but Slavney recommended a handful of changes to improve the project. Other projects the Village is weighing in the TIF include a new 75-room Sleep Inn by Choice Hotels just off Highway 14 in Oregon.
