From the Capital Times. Vandewalle & Associates’ own Ashley Robertson founded West Label Art, a group of new artists who have a unique voice and are looking for an outlet to share their messages. West Label’s first show, “Daughters in Dissent: A Visual Celebration of Herstories, Kinship and Sistahood,” opened Friday at Café Zoma. It runs through Jan. 3 and features the work of Robertson and her friend, graphic designer Micaela Berry. Robertson has a master’s degree in planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Artistically however, Ashley is largely self-taught. She finds inspiration in music, especially jazz. Robertson, 26, also uses her creativity in her planning career, working with city planning consultants and economic developers Vandewalle & Associates.
