Racine to begin study of Uptown

The Racine County Economic Development Corp. has asked Vandewalle & Associates to produce a Strategic Development Plan for Racine’s Uptown neighborhood. Located southwest of the main downtown area, Uptown includes residential, commercial, and corporate elements, including SC Johnson who has provided grant money to help fund the study. The goal is to create market-driven approaches for the area–ensuring projects are┬ánot only feasible, but implementable, and fit in with other relevant City opportunities. The effort, which will begin in earnest later this month and is expected to take eight to 10 months. See the JournalTimes article.
