The Village of East Dundee, Illinois is proposing the creation of a new “culinary district” for its downtown. The community seeks to recruit entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial area culinary school graduates to open up new restaurants and specialty food stores in the District. The Culinary District program also seeks to foster new food-related events, in addition to expanding its existing seasonal Farmers Market, to make the Village a regional destination for food. The program is part of East Dundee’s downtown redevelopment plan.
