The City of Streator, Illinois – a resilient community on the central Illinois prairie – is making changes to its comprehensive plan and creating a new vision for its central business district. Streator business owners, plan commission, and the community members recently gathered at a workshop to hear from Vandewalle & Associates representatives about recommendations for these updates. Jessica Schmiedicke and Scott Harrington shared ideas for building on the city’s manufacturing, place-based, and community assets, as well as recommendations for key initiatives to help achieve the community’s long-term vision.
