The Waterloo RiverLoop in Waterloo, Iowa has received a Design Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects Central States chapter. The waterfront redevelopment project is part of a larger downtown redevelopment effort in Waterloo, and was one of over 80 applications including competition from 8 Midwest states and several larger cities (St. Louis, Kansas City, Omaha, etc.). The project involved the Cedar Valley River Renaissance Design Committee, WDC, City of Waterloo. Vandewalle & Associates developed and refined the design of the amphitheater, and worked with Craig Ritland Landscape Architects, InVision and EarthTech (AECom) as it moved into final construction.
